Meet Dr. Shah
Dr. Serena Shah received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in 2017 and earned her certificate in Periodontics from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Shah completed her Periodontics training as the Chief Resident in her final year. Prior to dental school she completed a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada where she double majored in Biology and Biochemistry.
She focuses on continuing her education by taking extra courses on occlusion, soft tissue grafting, and digital smile design to stay current with the latest technology for her patient’s treatment plans. She makes sure to communicate the treatment plan for each of her patients to cover all their dental necessities. She likes to get to know her patients and create a comfortable environment for them.
Dr. Serena Shah is an experienced Periodontist with a focus in minimally invasive surgical techniques. She is trained in the LANAP protocol using PerioLase MVP-7 Nd:YAG laser, which is used as an alternative to conventional periodontal surgery. She also does traditional Periodontal surgery including, but not limited to osseous surgery, periodontal plastic surgery (such as gum grafts), implants, scaling and root planing, and sinus lifts.
Dr. Shah has taken part in volunteer experiences with the Mondetta Charity Foundation by joining the Uganda Dental Mission to provide dental care to young children in inner-city schools. While she was there, she also demonstrated oral hygiene instructions to the students. She is an active member of the Manitoba Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Periodontics.
Outside of the office she enjoys working out at Orange Theory Fitness, travelling, and trying new restaurant
