Dental Cleaning Reviews
"Lovely office, super professional and kind staff. Gus did an awesome cleaning and general check up on my dental hygiene."- S.W. / Yelp / Nov 13, 2018
"I've seen Dr. Quiong and Dr. Galler at Premier Dental and I had great experiences with both doctors! What I love about this practice is they're very efficient. They don't waste any time. I was invited back into an exam room almost immediately after I arrived at the office. Dr. Quiong's cleaning was thorough and quick and she answered any questions I had with patience and without hesitation. Dr. Galler went out of his way to fit me in for an early morning Invisalign consultation. Knowing little to nothing about Invisalign, I walked out of Dr. Galler's office feeling like an expert. He carefully fit my Invisalign trays and then meticulously explained exactly how my treatment would work and the possible outcomes or effects of my choices on how to go about wearing Invisalign. He is very easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. I would feel comfortable calling Dr. Galler with a follow-up question and/or making another appointment for any inquiries given his welcoming and helpful attitude."- S.F. / Yelp / Feb 05, 2013
"Years ago, I underwent some orthodontia work but unfortunately was never able to finish. After going through my teen and college years with halfway finished teeth, I decided that enough was enough and that I needed to look into orthodontia options. As a working adult, Invisalign satisfied all of my needs (low profile, low maintenance, and great results for my overcrowding/spacing issues) so I went to see none other than the top 1% Invisalign dentist himself, Dr. Galler. His title speaks for itself but his work surely does too. Nine months and 19 Invisalign trays later, my teeth are beautifully set and much whiter thanks to a complimentary whitening kit. Both Dr. Galler and his wonderful dental assistant Natasha were very attentive throughout the entire process and graciously patient with my million and one questions (I like to ask a lot of questions). I couldn't be happier with the results and my beautiful new smile! I definitely recommend coming to Premier Dental and seeing Dr. Galler if you're contemplating orthodontia care via Invisalign."- S.S. / Yelp / Oct 28, 2015
"Yes, I actually enjoy and look forward to dentist appointments at Premier Dental and no, they aren't holding a gun to my head right now as I type. Jokes aside, I've been coming here for general cleanings since 2014 and I have to say that the team here is amazing - especially Natasha and Menna - they're so nice and thorough I almost get sad when the visit is over. This year I decided to get Invisalign and my experience with Dr. Galler and Dr. Ritholtz has been phenomenal. They closed up my gap in no time and were very professional, friendly and flexible (I lost a few trays and they didn't lecture and try to make me feel bad) throughout the entire process. I'll continue to come to Premier for all of my dentistry needs as long as I live in NYC. Thanks Premier Dental team you guys are the best!"- M.L. / Yelp / Oct 18, 2018
"Very efficient front desk. Nice space. Hygenist did excellent cleaning both visits. second visit the dentist was rather stand offish but luckily I was just there for checkup. The best part? Huge goodie bag to take home!"- A.C. / Yelp / Jan 01, 2013
Our dentists and hygienists adhere to the recommendation by the American Dental Association (ADA) that patients have their teeth professionally cleaned every six months. More frequent dental cleaning visits may be recommended by our experienced team to best serve individual oral health and treatment needs. Young children also benefit from routine preventive care and should visit the dentist for the first time around the ages of 2 – 3. Following their initial visit, our dentists will help parents decide when to schedule their child's next visit.
All individuals should have their teeth cleaned on a regular basis to remove plaque and tartar from the teeth. These deposits harbor harmful oral bacteria, which can lead to the development of tooth decay and periodontal (gum) disease. Dental cleanings also minimize surface stain from tea, coffee, and other products and can help to freshen the breath while brightening the smile. Maintaining a routine dental cleaning schedule with our leading team at PDADental can also serve to reduce treatment needs down the road while saving patients from future expenses and time spent in the dental office.
What To Expect
Dental cleanings at PDADental are tailored to meet the needs of each individual patient and may include dental exams and x-rays as recommended by our dentists. We will also keep a close watch on your gums, screening for periodontal disease at regular intervals. Even when you practice excellent oral hygiene habits at home, plaque is continually forming and often calcifies into a harder substance known as tartar. Our dental hygienists will utilize ultrasonic and hand scaling instruments to gently yet thoroughly eliminate these substances from your teeth without compromising tooth structure. Once each tooth has been individually scaled, we will use a special polishing agent to help remove surface stains and create a smoother enamel feel. A fluoride treatment may be applied at the end of the visit to help strengthen teeth and protect against cavity formation.
Dental cleanings are performed biannually for many New York City, NY patients. However, our PDADental team may recommend more frequent cleaning visits if you or your family have gum disease, are currently wearing braces, or other oral concerns. During your cleaning appointments, we will point out any areas that need more attention at home and show you personalized tips on how to best brush and floss to reduce the risk of cavities and gum disease. Additional tools or oral products may also be suggested to help you best care for your smile between dental visits.
Dental cleanings are preventive prophylaxis services that are commonly covered by most dental insurances at least twice per year. Our trained billing team will review your plan and let you know of any potential out-of-pocket expenses, such as for additional cleanings that may be beneficial for your oral health. As a leading practice, PDADental accepts PPO insurance plans and will file your claim as a courtesy to you. If you incur personal costs for your care, please talk to our friendly team about your payment choices, including flexible financing through CareCredit®.
